On the delicate subject of compulsive and/or addictive eating patterns.

On the subject of food fear or disordered eating patterns…

I am not a doctor or professional counselor of any sort, but after posting my recipes and thoughts on food and diet, I’ve been receiving private direct messages from people looking for solace and searching for answers and more depth on the subject of eating disorders.

All I can say is if you are struggling with an eating disorder, please understand that this is a process you are meant to live, and it is perfect. Do not perceive it as a flaw and rather embrace it as a growth opportunity. You chose this struggle because your spirit is ready to learn something beautiful and to shed light on a buried side of you that wants to surface to make you stronger and wiser. Passion and strengths arise from overcoming struggles and you chose this particular struggle because you are ready to break free and move forward, so this is something you are meant to overcome, period. Your spirit is wise and only picks battles it knows it is ready to win so you are in the right place facing the right adversity.

If you are tired of dealing with your disorder you will have to find the courage to allow yourself to feel the things that want to be felt and stop stuffing them and numbing them with food (or drugs or alcohol or cigarettes). Something wants to be felt, it wants to be acknowledged, it wants to be released, it wants to be embraced and it wants to heal.

So when you do eat, make sure you eat only food that is healthy and nutrient-packed. Eat natural wholesome foods that nourish your body instead of stuffing and starving it. Do not be afraid of over eating the foods that nourish you as your body will keep asking you for what it needs to be able to heal and regenerate your cells. Food (wholesome food) is your friend, not your enemy, so don’t be afraid to feed your body all the micro and macro nutrients is needs.

Junk food, processed, refined and artificial foods keep you in a vicious circle of cravings and overeating as your body never stops feeling satisfied given it is malnourished and deprived. It is the never ending story of feeling hungry and empty inside and trying to fill that void with things that only make the voids bigger with guilt and shame, so choose foods that love you, not deprive you.

Reach for healthy foods and trust their healing properties, eat mindfully and love the process.

And as a side note, in the intent to heal and love yourself, try to make peace and forgive all of the people you have a conflict with. Release all buried resentment as this holds you back and trumps you energetically. Change starts within. Hope this helps! ♥️🙏🏼


No soy doctora ni mucho menos y no pretendo tener la respuesta más acertada para este tema pero desde que empecé a compartir mis recetas y consejos de alimentación sana o natural, he recibido varios mensajes de gente que busca apoyo e indaga sobre el tema del miedo a la comida y desórdenes alimenticios, así que quisiera compartir mi humilde opinión sobre el tema pues es algo delicado que considero no debe de ser tan tabú, sino todo lo contrario.

En el tema de desórdenes alimenticios o compulsiones de cualquier tipo, considero que es un proceso que se tiene que vivir. No lo veas como un defecto y mejor velo como una gran oportunidad pues el conflicto con la comida te está queriendo enseñar algo hermoso que aun no logras ver. Las pasiones y virtudes nacen de las batallas, recuérdalo, y no hay batalla que no puedas vencer pues tu escoges tus batallas a nivel espiritual ya que estás buscando superarte, si no no estarías enfrentando esa adversidad.

Si ya estás cansad@ de tener un conflicto con la comida tendrás que enfrentar tu miedo y decidir que te vas a permitir sentir las cosas que tu cuerpo y alma quieren sentir sin anestesiarlo con comida (o drogas, alcohol o cigarros)..

Y cuando comas procura comer alimentos sanos que te nutran y no temas comer de más si eso es lo que te pide tu cuerpo. Para sanar tendrás que darle a tu cuerpo todos los micro y macronutrientes que te pide. La comida chatarra, refinada o procesada te mantiene en un círculo vicioso pues nunca terminas de sentirte llena o satisfecha y comes de más y luego te inundas de culpa y verguenza… es la historia de nunca acabar.

Por eso es imperativo comer sano y tener la mente abierta y la intención de permitirte comer sin miedo, darte permiso de nutrirte sin culpa, y en el proceso has las pases y perdona a toda la gente con quien tengas algun conflicto o resentimiento pues también eso te frena de avanzar a nivel energético.
